I keep reading about his cult and so on from critics, but there isn't even a fan club, let alone a church for his disciples to worship at. Everything I've read in the secondary literature takes issue with some aspect of what he has to say. We probably have his Nazism to thank for this.<br /><br />What's a "profesional philosopher"? I'd like to get paid to speculate. Where do I apply?<br /><br />Heidegger is the most cited XXth century philosopher in the philosophy journals, and that's probably why he is constantly under attack. If he's knocked down from his perch at the top, then all the other philosphers would move up a rung. No one cares about the other hundreds of philosphers that supported the Nazis and whom history has forgotten.
